Digital oscilloscopes, also known as digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs), capture and digitize electrical waveforms by sampling the input signal at high rates, storing the data in memory, and rendering it on screen. Unlike analog instruments, DSOs can freeze waveforms, trigger on complex events, perform automatic measurements, and export data for further analysis. They are the standard tool for signal verification, debugging, and compliance testing across electronics, automotive, telecommunications, and power industries.
Modern digital oscilloscopes offer bandwidths from 70 MHz to several gigahertz, deep waveform memory, and built-in protocol decoders for standards such as I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, UART, and USB.
