Description
Overview
The Anritsu MG36221A is an RF signal generator spanning 9 kHz to 20 GHz with industry-leading signal purity. Designed for precision testing applications including radar systems, transceiver chains, and high-resolution analog-to-digital converter testing, the MG36221A combines exceptionally low phase noise with atomic clock frequency stability through an optional internal rubidium frequency reference or GNSS/GPS-disciplined oscillator.
Key Features
- Exceptionally low single sideband (SSB) phase noise of -136 dBc/Hz (typical) and -140 dBc/Hz (measured) at 10 GHz with 10 kHz offset
- Atomic clock frequency stability with internal rubidium frequency reference option and optional GNSS receiver
- Very low harmonic content (<-58 dBc) and spurious performance (<-63 dBc)
- AM, FM, PM, and pulse modulation capabilities with simultaneous modulation options
- Optional on-site frequency and level calibration capability
- 7-inch touch screen with keypad and dial front panel controls
- Multiple remote interfaces: USB 3.0, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, GPIB
- Frequency resolution to 0.001 Hz
Applications
- Nonlinear measurements (P1 dB, IP2, IP3) for amplifiers and mixers
- Pulse modulated signal source for radar system testing
- Local oscillator substitution for transceiver chain testing
- High-frequency clock source for ADC/DAC testing with low jitter
- Frequency reference for calibration and metrology laboratories
- Two-tone intermodulation and interference testing
