Pressure Calibrators
Pressure Calibrators
Pressure calibrators are test and measurement instruments designed to generate, apply, and measure pressure references for the calibration and verification of pressure gauges, transmitters, switches, and transducers. They range from portable field units for on-site calibration to high-precision laboratory systems used in metrology and standards work. Pressure calibrators are available for gauge, absolute, and differential pressure, covering ranges from deep vacuum to thousands of bar.
These instruments are critical wherever accurate pressure measurement affects process safety, product quality, or regulatory compliance. Modern pressure calibrators frequently integrate a built-in reference standard, a pressure pump or controller, HART and 4–20 mA loop capability, and data logging — enabling a single technician to complete full calibration cycles in the field without returning to the laboratory.
Typical Applications
- Calibrating pressure transmitters and gauges in oil & gas pipelines and refineries
- Verification of safety relief valves and pressure switches in power plants
- Compliance testing of pressure instruments in pharmaceutical and food processing
- Aerospace and defense pneumatic system pressure verification
- Primary and secondary pressure standards in metrology laboratories
