Overview

The Stanford Research Systems SR620 is a universal time interval and frequency counter designed for laboratory and automated test equipment (ATE) applications. It performs virtually all time and frequency measurements required in a laboratory environment with exceptional accuracy. The instrument's 25 ps rms single-shot timing resolution and low jitter make it one of the highest resolution counters available, suitable for applications ranging from short-term phase-locked loop jitter analysis to long-term drift measurements of atomic clocks.

Key Features

  • 25 ps single-shot timing resolution with low jitter
  • Frequency measurement from 0.001 Hz to 1.3 GHz
  • 11-digit frequency resolution in 1 second
  • Time interval, period, pulse-width, rise/fall time, and phase measurements
  • Graphical output: histograms, strip charts, and jitter plots on oscilloscope or plotter
  • Statistics calculation: mean, standard deviation, Allan variance, min/max
  • Flexible arming and triggering options
  • Built-in auto-calibration to null insertion delays
  • Precision 1 kHz reference output at 50% duty cycle
  • GPIB (IEEE-488.2) and RS-232 interfaces
  • Two DVM inputs (±20 VDC at 0.3% accuracy) and two DAC outputs
  • Optional ovenized timebase with improved long-term stability
