The Magna Power ALx5 Series MagnaLOAD is a programmable DC electronic load utilizing conventional linear MOSFET-based dissipative elements. It achieves a wide voltage-current operating range within the model's maximum 5kW power rating, with conservative cooling designed for continuous full-power operation in environments up to 50°C ambient temperature.

Technology

The ALx Series employs MOSFETs operated in the linear region for power dissipation, delivering an industry-leading full-power operating range. Each MOSFET device produces load current defined by VC/Rn, with closed-loop amplifiers enabling multiple MOSFETs to share load current equally. Control circuitry operates in a closed loop to linearize response.
