The Magna Power ALx15-500-1500 is a high-performance DC electronic load utilizing linear MOSFET-based dissipative elements. This 15kW model achieves a wide voltage-current operating range with 500V/1500A capacity. The conservative cooling design enables continuous full power operation in environments up to 50°C ambient temperature, making it suitable for demanding test and measurement applications.

Technology

The ALx Series uses specially selected MOSFETs operated in the linear region, allowing full power and control over the entire VA rating. This approach delivers one of the industry's widest full-power operating ranges for its class. Control circuitry operates in closed-loop configuration to linearize response, with multiple MOSFETs sharing load current equally through closed-loop amplifiers. MOSFETs are selected for safe operation well below maximum power ratings during linear mode operation.
