The ALx Series MagnaLOAD utilizes linear MOSFET-based dissipative elements to achieve a wide voltage-current operating range within its maximum power rating. The series incorporates heat management innovations developed for Magna-Power's programmable DC power supplies, ensuring long product life with continuous full power operation in environments up to 50°C ambient temperature. The MOSFET components are specifically selected for linear region operation with safe operating characteristics well below the maximum power rating.
