Overview
The SKF TKED 1 is a handheld electrical discharge detector (EDD) pen designed to identify electrical discharges in electric motor bearings. When motor shaft voltages discharge to earth through bearings, they cause electrical erosion, lubricant degradation, and ultimately bearing failure. The TKED 1 helps detect bearings susceptible to failure before catastrophic damage occurs, significantly reducing unplanned machine downtime.
