Switch Units
Switch Units
Switch units are modular relay and multiplexer assemblies used within data acquisition (DAQ) and automated test systems to route signals from multiple sources to a single measurement instrument. By enabling one instrument to sequentially or selectively scan hundreds of channels, switch units significantly reduce system cost and complexity in large-scale test environments. They are commonly integrated into mainframe chassis and controlled via GPIB, LAN, or USB interfaces.
Armature relay multiplexers offer high signal integrity for low-frequency measurements, while reed relay modules provide faster switching and longer cycle life for high-throughput applications. Both types are used across industries where multi-point monitoring and automated signal routing are essential.
Typical Applications
- Multi-channel temperature and sensor scanning in environmental test chambers
- Automated production testing of PCBs and electronic assemblies on manufacturing lines
- Signal routing in aerospace and defense system validation rigs
- Battery cell monitoring and characterization in energy storage R&D
- Resistance and continuity verification in cable harness testing
