Pressure Transducers & Sensors

Pressure transducers and sensors convert fluid or gas pressure into an electrical signal — typically a 4–20 mA current loop, 0–10 V analog voltage, or digital protocol output — enabling pressure data to be integrated into control systems, data acquisition platforms, programmable logic controllers, and industrial automation networks. These devices range from current-to-pressure (I/P) converters that interface electronic controllers with pneumatic field devices, to high-accuracy capacitive sensors for environmental and cleanroom monitoring.

Current-to-pressure transducers, a prevalent type in this category, accept a standard 4–20 mA input and output a proportional pneumatic pressure signal, serving as the bridge between an electronic control system and pneumatic actuators such as control valves and HVAC dampers. Pressure sensors provide the inverse function, converting pressure to a standardized electrical signal for monitoring and feedback control.

Typical Applications

  • Control valve and pneumatic actuator positioning via current-to-pressure signal conversion
  • Environmental and atmospheric pressure monitoring in meteorological systems
  • HVAC variable air volume control and fan pressure sensing
  • Industrial process automation with 4–20 mA pressure feedback to PLCs and DCS
  • Semiconductor fabrication and cleanroom facility environmental monitoring
  • Humidity measurement systems requiring a barometric pressure reference
