Overview

The Viavi ORL-85 is a battery-operated field-portable optical return loss meter designed for high-speed laser systems, analog transmission (CATV), and Raman amplifiers. Optical return loss measurements verify that installations are completed carefully and accurately, demonstrating that optical connectors are inspected and clean. The instrument combines an ultra-sensitive power meter with stabilized light sources to enable up to a 70 dB measurement range.
