Overview
The Viavi SmartClass Fiber MPOLx with integrated Patch Cord Microscope (PCM) is an optical loss test set for complete Tier 1 (Basic) certification of multimode MPO fiber networks. It integrates dual-wavelength light sources (850/1300 nm) and a broadband power meter into a single solution, enabling technicians to perform all necessary certification requirements from either end of the connection.
With identical local and remote units, the MPOLx provides full visibility and control from both the source and meter side. The 3.5-inch color touch-screen interface displays comprehensive results for all 12 fibers in under 6 seconds, including loss values, margins, and polarity results. The integrated microscope enables detailed inspection of patch cord ends. A single technician can complete end-face inspection and testing without repeatedly walking between units.
