Overview

The Viavi E8126C is an 8100C-series OTDR module for the T-BERD/MTS platform family, delivering improved performance over the 8100B generation. Operating at 1310 and 1550 nm wavelengths with up to 47.5 dB dynamic range, it integrates light source, power meter, and OTDR in a single-port design. The 0.5 m event dead zone enables precise characterization of closely spaced fiber faults and events.

The module features automatic traffic detection, Smart Link Mapper for interpretation automation, and compliance with IEC 61280-1-4 for multimode encircled-flux testing. Optimized for single-mode and multimode networks including PON architectures, it suits commissioning, upgrades, and troubleshooting applications.
