Description
Overview
The Viavi FI-10/FI-11 Optical Fiber Identifier is a rugged, handheld instrument that identifies optical fibers by detecting optical signals transmitted through single-mode fiber. Using non-destructive local detection technology (macro-bend detection), it eliminates the need to open fibers at splice points for identification, preventing service interruption.
Key Features
- High-intensity LED indication of active signal transmission
- Interchangeable adapter heads for jacketed, coated, or ribbon fiber
- Non-destructive macro-bend detection technology
- Operating range: 850–1700 nm
- Detection sensitivity: -40 dBm
- Bi-directional traffic indication
- 2-digit LED display for core power measurement (FI-11 model)
- Compatible with most AT&T and Corning optical fibers
- One-hand operation with low battery indication
