Overview
The Sycatus A0070A Optical Frequency Analyzer is designed to measure optical frequency modulation characteristics of FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave) LiDAR lasers. FMCW LiDAR is a promising distance sensing technology known for its high sensitivity, excellent tolerance to background radiation and inter-LiDAR interference, and reduced eye safety risk. In FMCW LiDAR systems, the laser beam undergoes triangular optical frequency modulation. The optical frequency modulation rate (chirp rate in Hz/s) is the key parameter determining measurement accuracy. Direct modulation of semiconductor lasers produces both frequency and intensity modulation. The A0070A measures optical frequency modulation in the time domain, free from the influence of intensity modulation, displaying waveforms similar to an oscilloscope display.
