Overview

The Vitrek 983i is a high-voltage insulation resistance tester specifically designed for demanding applications in electric vehicles and solar arrays. It delivers DC output voltages from 60V to 11,000V with 1V resolution and can measure insulation resistance values up to 150 Teraohms. The unit employs dual Coldfire microprocessors and dual DSPs for fast IR readings with dwell times as low as 100ms.

The 983i excels at testing capacitive loads such as cabling, photovoltaic panels, and common-mode choke devices where traditional IR testers struggle. It supports multi-mode IR testing with continuously variable test voltage and provides precise pico-amp leakage measurement capabilities.
