Overview

The Megger DET2/3 is a robust and compact automatic earth test instrument designed to measure earth electrode resistance and soil resistivity. It excels at the four-terminal method of measurement, which eliminates the resistance of the current circuit from the measurement. The microprocessor-controlled system provides flexible and user-friendly earth testing with excellent error detection capabilities and full test information displayed on a large color screen.

The DET2/3 can be used to test in accordance with BS 7430 (earthing/grounding), BS-EN-62305 (lightning protection), BS-EN-50122-1 (railway applications), and IEEE Standard 81. Test frequency, test current, and filtering can be quickly adjusted to overcome adverse conditions that may influence test results. The instrument provides a live trace of measurements showing the amount of noise from the system under test—a powerful diagnostic tool for earth test engineers. Test result data can be downloaded directly through a USB flash drive or to a Windows PC running PowerDB software.
