Overview

The GW Instek SFG-1003 is a 3MHz DDS function generator featuring high accuracy and stability output using Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) technology implemented on a large-scale FPGA. It generates sine, square, triangle, and TTL waveforms, providing fundamental functions for accurate and reliable test results. Combining DDS technology with an affordable price point, the SFG-1003 delivers excellent value for users who need a stable, accurate signal source for measurement and laboratory applications.

The frequency drift and amplitude instability of conventional signal sources can introduce critical uncertainties in high-accuracy measurements. The SFG-1003 employs PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) circuitry to generate stable waveforms with ±20ppm accuracy and stability across the frequency range from 0.1Hz to 3MHz. This ensures reliable signal sourcing beyond what traditional signal generators can achieve.

The SFG-1003 provides low-distortion output through DDS-based waveform generation via a high-performance DAC and high-speed comparator, effectively eliminating harmonic components inherent to conventional oscillator circuits. The output features 55dBc low distortion with selectable range from 2mVpp to 10Vpp. The user interface is intuitive, offering quick access to core functions without lengthy learning curves.
