The Keysight 81642A is a tunable laser source optimized for testing optical amplifiers and passive components in DWDM systems. It covers both C- and L-Band wavelengths with continuous, mode-hop free tuning across the entire 1510–1640nm range. The 81642A delivers high optical power output suitable for amplifier characterization and includes a built-in real-time wavelength meter for precise monitoring. Though superseded by the 81642B, the 81642A can be upgraded.
