Overview

The General Radio 1482 Series Standard Inductors are the industry standard for metrology laboratories and are used by national metrology institutes and primary standards bodies worldwide. These inductors represent the highest level of precision and stability for inductance measurement standards. Each unit is a uniformly wound toroid on a ceramic core, designed to provide accurate and highly stable standards of self inductance for use as low frequency reference and working standards in laboratory environments.

The design features a negligible external magnetic field, providing essentially no pickup from external fields. This makes them ideal for precise calibration work. The inductor is resiliently supported in a mixture of ground cork and silica gel, and the entire assembly is potted in a cubical aluminum case for protection and stability.
