Description
Overview
The General Radio 1409-T is a series of highly stable, cost-effective capacitance standards designed for precision measurement in laboratory and calibration applications. With low temperature coefficient and minimal losses, these standards come in a wide range of capacitance values from 1 nF to 1,000 µF. Up to 1 µF, units are constructed from fixed mica capacitors with exceptional stability. From 1 µF to 10 µF, hermetically sealed polystyrene is used, while values above 10 µF employ hermetically sealed polycarbonate construction.
Key Features
- Capacitance range from 1 nF to 1,000 µF
- Exceptional stability: ±0.01%/year with no systemic drift
- Low temperature coefficient and dissipation factor
- Multiple terminal configurations (two to five terminals depending on model)
- Silvered-mica and foil construction with mechanical stability
- Cast aluminum case with silica gel desiccation
- Temperature monitoring well for dial-type thermometer
Applications
- Laboratory reference and working standards
- Precision capacitance calibration
- High-stability measurement applications
- Parallel connection without error for measurement circuits
