Description
Overview
The Keithley 3765 is a signal conditioning card designed for Hall Effect and van der Pauw measurements. It buffers test signals from the Hall sample to measurement instrumentation and switches current from a source to the Hall sample. When paired with the Keithley 3706A mainframe, the 3765 enables measurement of extremely low Hall voltages and very high sample resistances with exceptional accuracy.
Key Features
- Dual-mode operation: High resistivity and low resistivity modes
- High resistivity mode: Input impedance >100TΩ with <50fA bias current
- Low resistivity mode: Input impedance >10GΩ with <100pA bias current
- Input voltage range: –8V to +8V in both modes
- High resistivity output resistance: 10kΩ
- Low resistivity output resistance: <30Ω
- Ultra-low input voltage noise: <50nV p-p (0.1–10Hz bandwidth in low resistivity mode)
- Specialty 4×5 matrix configuration with mixed relay types
Applications
- Hall Effect testing and characterization of semiconductor materials
- van der Pauw measurements for thin film analysis
- High-impedance and low-noise signal conditioning
- Laboratory research in materials science and semiconductor physics
