Current Clamp Accessories

Current clamp accessories include the probes, transmitter clamps, split-core current transformers, and adapter sets that extend the current measurement capabilities of multimeters, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers. Unlike self-contained clamp meters, these accessories integrate with existing instruments, allowing engineers to add flexible current sensing to a preferred measurement platform across a wide range of conductor sizes and current magnitudes.

Transmitter clamps convert AC or DC current flowing in a conductor into a standardized output — typically 4–20 mA or a calibrated voltage — compatible with data loggers and power quality analyzers. Split-core current clamps install on conductors without circuit disconnection, making them well suited for permanent monitoring, energy audits, and periodic load surveys in live electrical panels. AC/DC capable probes using Hall effect or Rogowski coil technology support both power-frequency measurement and high-frequency current capture in switching power electronics.

Typical Applications

  • Power quality monitoring and harmonic analysis in industrial and commercial electrical distribution systems
  • Earth continuity and leakage current measurement in insulation testing and safety verification workflows
  • Non-intrusive current monitoring in live panels using split-core clamps during energy audits and load surveys
  • Three-phase power measurement with multi-channel current probe sets on power analyzers
  • Cable fault location and underground pipe tracing using transmitter clamps with cable locating systems
