Description
Overview
The Amprobe UAT-600-T is a transmitter designed to locate underground utilities and cables. It operates at 8 kHz and 33 kHz frequencies and provides three distinct active transmission modes: induction, direct connection with test leads, and signal clamp coupling.
Key Features
- Three active transmission modes: induction, direct connection, clamp
- Operating frequencies: 8 kHz and 33 kHz
- Maximum output voltage: 50 V rms
- Maximum output current: 250 mA rms with 5-step adjustment
- Resistance measurement: 0 ohm to 999 kilohms
- CAT IV 600 V rated for energized circuits
- LCD display with LED backlight
- Water and dust resistance IP54
- Audio indicator
Operating Modes
Induction Mode
The transmitter uses an internal antenna to radiate a signal for tracing individual cables where direct access is not available.
Direct Connection
The most reliable tracing method when direct electrical contact with cables or pipes can be made using test leads.
Signal Clamp
Provides safe signal induction through cable insulation without requiring direct electrical contact, ideal for situations where contact is not possible or safe.
Applications
- Locate and trace energized and de-energized underground cables
- Trace metallic pipes and utilities
- Trace non-metallic pipes with inserted metal fish tape
- Measure voltage, current, and resistance of underground circuits
