Description
Overview
The Chroma 19311-10 Battery Cell Surge Tester is a multi-channel instrument designed for testing insulation quality between the positive and negative plates of lead-acid battery cells. It applies a non-destructive, low-energy high-voltage impulse before electrolyte injection, allowing the device to resonate with internal inductors and analyze the resonant waveform to detect insulation defects. The 10-channel model enables simultaneous testing of multiple cells, significantly improving production efficiency.
Key Features
- 10 channels for multi-cell scanning and up to 9 simultaneous cell tests
- Maximum output voltage: 6 kV (depending on device-under-test capacitance)
- 200 MHz sampling rate with four-terminal measurement capability
- Eight judgment methods for analysis: Area, Diff-Area, Flutter, Laplacian, V1, V3, Peak Ratio, and Delta Peak percentage
- Pulse interval range: 30 ms to 3000 ms
- Breakdown Voltage Mode (BDV) for enhanced insulation assessment
- Contact check function
- VGA color display with 640 × 480 resolution
- Multiple remote interfaces: LAN, USB, RS232
- Expandable to 25 channels with external scanner option (A190362)
Applications
- Lead-acid battery cell manufacturing quality control and inspection
- Insulation integrity verification before electrolyte injection
- Separator integrity and short-circuit detection
- Production line efficiency improvement
