Description
Overview
The Fluke SB140 Sound Beacon is an ultrasonic leak detection device that enables non-pressurized vessel testing. Placed inside a closed vessel or compartment, it emits sound at 40 kHz that escapes through leak paths, allowing external Fluke acoustic imagers to visually identify leak locations at welds, gaskets, seals, hatches, and windows. This method is ideal for quality control in aviation, automotive, railroads, clean rooms, and enclosed spaces where pressurization is not feasible.
Key Features
- 40 kHz ultrasound frequency for excellent airborne transmission and low attenuation
- Compatible with Fluke acoustic imagers for visual leak pinpointing
- Beacon Mode operation on compatible cameras with fixed 40 kHz frequency filter
- Non-pressurized leak detection eliminates need for pressurization equipment
- User-friendly operation with minimal training requirements
Applications
- Aircraft and aerospace vessel integrity testing
- Automotive fuel system and component leak detection
- Railroad car and locomotive compartment sealing verification
- Clean room and environmental chamber tightness testing
- Building envelope and HVAC duct sealing inspection
