Description
Overview
The Keysight 346A is a broadband noise source designed for noise figure measurements and characterization of low-noise amplifiers and RF devices. Operating across 10 MHz to 18 GHz with 6 dB excess noise ratio (ENR) and exceptionally low standing wave ratio (SWR), it provides precise, individually calibrated noise for accurate measurement of input-impedance-sensitive devices such as GaAsFETs and UHF amplifiers.
Key Features
- Broadband operation from 10 MHz to 18 GHz
- 6 dB excess noise ratio (ENR) at calibrated frequencies
- VSWR less than 1.3:1 for minimal measurement uncertainty
- Very small reflection coefficient change (<0.01) from ON to OFF state
- Low SWR minimizes signal reflection and measurement errors
- Individually calibrated ENR values at specific frequencies
- BNC (female) input for bias control and 3.5 mm (male) RF connector
- Optimized for input-impedance-sensitive device characterization
Applications
- Noise figure measurement systems
- Low-noise amplifier characterization and testing
- GaAsFET and UHF amplifier evaluation
- RF and microwave receiver sensitivity testing
- Broadband noise characterization from 10 MHz to 18 GHz
