Signal conditioners are electronic modules that receive raw signals from sensors and transducers and convert, amplify, filter, or isolate them to produce a clean, standardized output suitable for data acquisition systems, PLCs, and recorders. Common input types include thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, load cells, current loops (4–20 mA), voltage signals, and frequency outputs. Signal conditioners ensure signal integrity, eliminate ground loops, provide electrical isolation between field devices and control equipment, and match sensor output ranges to the input requirements of downstream instruments.
They are deployed across a wide range of industries wherever precise, noise-free signal transmission is required between field sensors and control or measurement systems. DIN-rail mounted signal conditioners are a standard component of industrial control panels and process automation systems.
