Description
Overview
The Bird 4314C Thruline Wattmeter is an insertion-type RF wattmeter designed to measure power flow and load match in 50 ohm coaxial transmission lines. It accurately measures both continuous wave (CW) and peak envelope power (PEP) present in amplitude modulated signals such as AM broadcast, single sideband, and TV video transmitters. The meter operates from two standard 9V alkaline batteries or an optional AC adaptor.
Key Features
- Accurate CW and Peak Envelope (PEP) power measurement from 450 kHz to 2.7 GHz
- Power range: 100 mW to 10 kW with ±5% CW and ±8% PEP accuracy
- Impedance: 50Ω nominal with insertion VSWR of 1.05 max. to 1000 MHz and 1.1 max. to 2300 MHz
- Bird Quick Change (QC) connectors to minimize adapters during measurements
- Storage space for 2 additional RF elements within meter housing
- Operates on 2 standard 9V alkaline batteries or optional AC adaptor
Applications
- CW power measurement on transmission lines
- AM broadcast and single sideband (SSB) signal monitoring
- TV video transmitter power measurement
- Pulse signal measurement and characterization
