Description
Overview
The Noise Com UFX7240A is an amplified noise source that generates white Gaussian noise with optimized flatness across the 2-40 GHz frequency band, extending into the millimeter-wave region. The instrument features microprocessor control via a 6.25" color TFT touchscreen and supports manual control or remote operation through IEEE-488, Ethernet, or RS232 serial connections. An internal combiner allows injection of external signals to add controlled amounts of noise, making it suitable for integration into automated test stations.
Key Features
- White Gaussian noise output with 127 dB attenuation in 1 dB steps (optional 0.1 dB steps)
- 50 Ohm impedance with typical VSWR of 1.5:1
- Frequency coverage: 2 GHz to 40 GHz (extending into millimeter-wave band)
- Multiple connector options: Type N, BNC, or SMA (K female standard for UFX7240)
- Optional signal path attenuators and SP6T filter switching
- 6.25" color TFT touchscreen with IEEE-488 (GPIB), Ethernet, and RS232 remote control
