Paperless Recorders

Paperless Recorders

Paperless recorders are advanced industrial data acquisition instruments that replace traditional paper-based chart recorders with electronic storage, color TFT displays, and digital communications. They capture multi-channel process variables — including temperature, pressure, flow, voltage, and current — and store the data internally on flash memory or SD cards, with optional transmission to SCADA systems or cloud platforms via Ethernet, USB, or Modbus. Configurable alarms, mathematical channels, and event logging make them well suited for continuous process supervision.

Compared to conventional chart recorders, paperless recorders eliminate the recurring cost of paper rolls and ink cartridges while providing searchable, tamper-evident digital records. Many models offer compliance features aligned with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, making them particularly valuable in pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing, and other regulated industries where data integrity is a regulatory requirement.

Typical Applications

  • Process temperature and pressure monitoring in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Regulatory compliance data logging under FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and similar standards
  • Energy and utilities monitoring in power generation and water treatment facilities
  • HVAC and cleanroom environmental monitoring with long-term trend analysis and alarm management
  • Multi-point process supervision in oil & gas and petrochemical plants
